March 11, Primary in Mississippi

With the presumptive candidate in the Republican party already in place the Democrats are still fighting for each State. Today the residents of Mississippi are being called upon to be Active and engage in the conversations of our world. From many accounts one of the pressing issues in Mississippi is the rebuilding after Hurricane Katrina.

Time for an update - the race issues in this election have finally been addressed. The question is what happens now?

You're definitely correct jared. I'm just thinking of a non-partisan way to present the issue. It is pretty interesting that this conversation is mainly being conducted by the democrats who have long espoused to be the more inclusive party.

I think one of the non-partisan approaches to this is to take what has happened: Race has become an issue and Barack Obama has responded by giving his "A more perfect union" speech, and then asking a few questions. Does what Reverend Wright said in his "inflammatory" sermons have any grain of truth to it? Is there anything that people could agree with?

Did Obama do the right thing in denouncing the comments but refusing to disassociate himself with Revernd Wright?

Does Obama's association with Wright reflect something about Senator Obama that was heretofore unknown?

And what is the way forward toward racial reconciliation and, to borrow the phrase, "a more perfect union"?
